E-bike charging station in Spiez

A community project for more sustainable mobility. The new e-bike charging station by the Info Center Spiez is free of charge and available all day, every day.

As from now, there is a new e-bike charging station available directly at the train station by the Info Center Spiez. The joint venture of Spiez Marketing AG, Pro Velo and SpiezSolar sets an example for sustainable mobility in Spiez. The charging station can be used every day around the clock. A total of nine outlets is available. The service is free of charge; all it needs is for the user to bring his/her own charging cable to conveniently recharge their e-bike.

During the day the charging station is powered by solar energy from the roof of the Info Center. Therefore, the electricity is used where it is produced. The 10.8 Kilowatt-peak-system made up of a total of 52 panels (~ 65m² solar cells), annually produces around 10000 Kilowatt hours, of which about 4500 is used by the Info Center. 

The Hotel Seeblick in Faulensee offers a further opportunity to recharge e-bikes with an equivalent project. The bike charging station is also open to the public. During the summer season there is also a charging station available by the open-air pool in Spiez Bay.
